MUST READ: BIAFRANS ARE SUFFERING
The sufferings are too much. God, what can we do? Who can help us get this Biafra? Was the cry of the street horder sellers I met yesterday while buying boiled groundnut from one of them. Igbos in the south eastern part of Nigeria are suffering. The present, past administrations have caused untold hardship among the people.
It is now difficult to eat three square meal a day due to the high cost of foodstuff. Even the foods that are harvested from farms are difficult to get acrossed to the nearest market as a result of bad roads within the states in the eastern part of Nigeria. These include the federal and state roads. They are in the worst shape and nobody cares to get them done.
No steady power supply, lack of industrial presence and other social amenities that are supposed to be present for a state but are lacking in the states in the southeast are causing untold hardship upon the people.
Politicians are waiting for the next election to enslave the people again. On this, we say no more election in the south east and south south until Biafra is restored. We cannot continue to live this way when we are blessed with every good natural resource that can put food on our table, cloth our children and send them to good schools. We cannot be suffering in the midst of plenty.
We call on the world leaders to conduct a referendum and let's decide. Biafrans are tired of constant, in year and out of year suffering in the hands of the political elites who will only use the youth during elections, arm them with sophisticated weapons, snatch ballot papers and when they emerged as political leaders will turn around and get all those youths arrested and imprisoned even killed as robbers and kidnappers.
Some kidnappers are graduates from higher institutions, Most of these graduates are from southeast and south south. knowing what they past through while in school would finish without a job for years. The frustration most times lead to all sorts of vices. That is why kidnapping is mostly predominate criminal cases in the south east and south. The youth are angry with every rich man on the street.
I believe the coming of Biafra will reduce to the barest minimum all these vices and return the glory of Ndi-Igbo. Biafra 50 years after: Igbo leaders lament continued marginalisation
